Because the timber in pianos is effected by humidity and temperature, regular maintenance and tuning is necessary to maintain a beautiful tone.  Our technicians are qualified to perform these services to the highest standards.

Tuning

  1. All piano manufacturers recommend a minimum of one tuning per year. This is to prevent a drop in pitch due to strings stretching and climatic change, as well as normal playing. For pianos that are tuned regularly the fee is approx $160 and may take up to two hours.

Action adjustment

  1. Also known as piano regulation, this is where the moving parts are carefully adjusted to perform at their optimum level with minimum friction. By making these adjustments we aim for a unified standard of things like touch weight and key dip (travel). Minimal maintenance costs each year help to reduce the risk of large repair bills due to mis-alignment of parts, etc.

Removals

  1. We recommend this to be performed only by experienced persons specialising in the removal of pianos. Please phone for a competitive price if required.

Repairs

  1. Our workshop is equipped to handle all common repairs and we stock a wide variety of relevant parts and materials.
