Service
Service
Because the timber in pianos is effected by humidity and temperature, regular maintenance and tuning is necessary to maintain a beautiful tone. Our technicians are qualified to perform these services to the highest standards.
Tuning
• All piano manufacturers recommend a minimum of one tuning per year. This is to prevent a drop in pitch due to strings stretching and climatic change, as well as normal playing. For pianos that are tuned regularly the fee is approx $160 and may take up to two hours.
Action adjustment
• Also known as piano regulation, this is where the moving parts are carefully adjusted to perform at their optimum level with minimum friction. By making these adjustments we aim for a unified standard of things like touch weight and key dip (travel). Minimal maintenance costs each year help to reduce the risk of large repair bills due to mis-alignment of parts, etc.
Removals
• We recommend this to be performed only by experienced persons specialising in the removal of pianos. Please phone for a competitive price if required.
Repairs
• Our workshop is equipped to handle all common repairs and we stock a wide variety of relevant parts and materials.
